Like it or not, you're going into end up in more than your fair share of battles throughout the course of your adventure. Luckily, you're a capable hero that knows how to handle themselves, right? Let's hope so...

You have three attacks at your disposal: Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary. These attacks can be changed throughout the course of your adventure, whenever you level up (which will be discussed later) you have the option to improve your current attack, or change it. You may want to improve it if you like your current battle style, or you may want to change it if you've recently acquired a new weapon.

If you are playing using the full Alchemy system, the weapons you use will have a description which is information you can use to create an attack (or attacks) when using it. But more on that later.

Before you set off on your adventure, you'll first need to pick a Primary Attack.

Primary Attack Edit

Your primary attack is the attack you can use whenever you want. For a swordsman, it may be a lunge. For a soldier, it may be a burst of bullets. Primary attacks have no extra effects on their own, and are available to use whenever you wish.

Some information on Primary attacks:

  • Primary attacks cause 1 damage if successful.
  • They may be used at any time.
  • They may be augmented by secondary or tertiary attacks or even skill flairs.

To create a primary attack, you need the following information:

  • Is the attack a melee attack or a ranged attack? Melee attacks can only hit squares adjacent to you effectively while ranged attacks will require the enemy to be a certain distance away to be effective. Attacks may still hit opponents outside of their distance parameter but will take a -1 penalty to your attack roll per square outside of the attacks range.
  • Is the attack a quick attack, standard attack or strong attack? Quick attacks will gain an attack roll bonus against reflex and a penalty against resistance, while strong attacks will gain a bonus to the attack roll against resistance but a penalty against reflex. Standard attacks offer no bonuses, but receive no penalties.

Secondary Attack Edit

Your secondary attack is an attack that is still quite frequent, but may need time to charge, or may be used only several times per battle, or once a certain pre-requisite is met. Secondary attacks may have additional effects, or increased powers, but are generally limited in their use.

Some information on Secondary attacks:

  • Secondary attacks may cause: 1) 1 damage and 1 effect, 2) 1+ damage, 3) add an effect or +1 damage increase to your primary attack if successful.
  • They may need time to charge, a pre-requisite may need to be fulfilled, or may have limited uses per battle.
  • They may be augmented by tertiary attacks or skill flairs.

To create a secondary attack, you need the following information:

  • Is the attack a melee attack or a ranged attack?
  • Is the attack a quick attack, standard attack or strong attack?
  • Is the attack a damage, effect, or augment? Damage attacks will cause 1+ damage, Effect attacks will cause an effect with an opponent or ally, and Augment attacks will change how your Primary attack functions for a limited time.
  • Does the attack need to be unlocked? If so, What unlocks this attack? The attack may need to be unlocked one of three ways: A certain amount of turns need to pass, a pre-requisite needs to be fulfilled in the battle. It may be unlocked at the start of the battle, but it will have limited uses per battle.

Tertiary Attacks Edit

Your tertiary attack is the most uncommon of your attacks, depending on their effect, they may be limited to one use per battle or once per day. Tertiary attacks can be augmentations to your other attacks, or attacks that inflict massive damage or lasting effects.

Some information on Tertiary Attacks:

  • Tertiary attacks will cause more damage, or will cause a greater effect upon an enemy or ally if successful.
  • Tertiary attacks may be very limitedinn its use,
  • They may augment primary or secondary attacks, or both.

To create a tertiary attack, you need the following information:

  • Is the attack a melee attack or a ranged attack?
  • Is the attack a quick attack, standard attack or strong attack?
  • Is the attack a damage, effect, or augment?
  • Does the attack need to be unlocked? If so, What unlocks this attack?
  • Does the attack grant a bonus or inflict a penalty to the hero? If the attacks grants a bonus to your hero, its damage or effect will be weakened. If the attack inflicts a penalty upon your hero, its damage or effect will be strengthened. If neither, it can be used without any complications.
  • How many times may this attack be used? The amount of times the attack can be used per day, or even per battle will diminish its power.
